Shield-Ready Fit & Precision Carry

In the old days, a poorly secured blade meant defeat. Today, your sidearm demands the same flawless retention and quick deployment. Use this guide to match your mission with the ultimate custom Kydex carry system.

"All the doorways, before one enters, should be looked around, should be spied out; for one knows not clearly where enemies sit on the benches."

GEAR SELECTION GUIDE

Precision Fit. Uncompromising Retention.

Everyday carry is about being ready for whatever waits around the corner. From standard IWB to heavy-duty OWB rigs, step through our selection guide below to configure a custom holster built for absolute readiness.

Choose your primary carry profile.

The baseline decision comes down to where the holster sits in relation to your beltline. Inside the waistband (IWB) or outside the waistband (OWB).

Inside the Waistband (IWB)

  • The Mission: Maximum concealment and low-profile everyday carry (EDC).
  • How it Works: Sits tucked inside your pants, utilizing your belt's natural tension to pull the weapon system tight to your body.
  • Best For: Appendix (AIWB) or strong-side hip carry under lightweight cover garments.

Option A: Standard IWB / AIWB

  • The Blueprint: A streamlined, single-shell holster designed for a minimal footprint.
  • Best For: Maximum versatility. It can be worn anywhere from appendix carry (1 o'clock) all the way around to strong-side hip or behind-the-hip (3 to 5 o'clock) or for left handed shooters (11 o'clock) all the way around to strong-side hip or behind-the-hip (9 to 7 o'clock).
  • The Benefit: Lightweight, fast to put on, and takes up minimal real estate on your belt.

Option B: IWB Sidecar Flex Rig

  • The Blueprint: A dual-clip, unified rig that places your firearm and a spare magazine carrier side-by-side in a single system.
  • The Flex Advantage: The firearm shell and mag carrier are joined by a heavy-duty, flexible hinge structure. This allows the entire rig to flex dynamically, wrapping naturally to the unique contour of your waistline as you move, sit, or bend.
  • Best For: Dedicated Appendix Carry (AIWB).
  • The Benefit: Balances out the weight of the firearm across two clips, keeps your reload in the exact same index location every time, and flattens out the beltline for incredible concealment despite carrying an extra magazine.

Outside the Waistband (OWB)

  • The Mission: High-speed access, maximum comfort and duty use.
  • How it Works: Rides on the outside of the beltline, eliminating friction against your body and allowing for a fast, unobstructed master grip.
  • Best For: Range days, tactical training, open carry, or duty environments where deep concealment isn't a requirement.

Option A: OWB Pancake

  • The Blueprint: A wide, two-piece Kydex design where the firearm shell is flanked by "wings" containing the belt loops.
  • The Pancake Advantage: By pulling the belt loops outward to the sides, the entire rig hugs tightly against the natural curve of your hip. It distributes the weight of the firearm across a wider section of your belt line.
  • Best For: Low-profile OWB carry. If you want to carry outside the waistband but still want the option to conceal the weapon under a loose jacket, flannel, or button-down shirt, this is the setup.
  • The Benefit: Maximum stability with zero sagging, incredible comfort for long hours on your feet, and the flattens out the profile of the weapon system to prevent outward printing.

Option B: OWB

  • The Blueprint: A tighter, single-piece shell designed to mount to modular attachments on the backside (like TRS Duty Drop UBL, Tek-Lok, or belt slides).
  • Best For: Range days, tactical training, competition, or duty use.
  • The Benefit: Sets the firearm slightly further off the body to clear plate carriers, chest rigs, or heavy clothing layers, allowing for a pure, fast vertical draw stroke.

Chest Holsters & Off Body Options

  • For environments where traditional on-the-belt carry isn’t practical, we offer specialized builds

Chest Holster

  • The Blueprint: A rugged Kydex shell integrated into a low-profile, multi-point nylon harness system designed to sit comfortably centered on your torso.
  • How it Works: The harness distributes the weight of the firearm evenly across your shoulders and upper back, locking the rig firmly against your chest so it won't bounce or shift during high-activity movement.
  • Best For:
    • Backcountry & Outdoor Recreation: Perfect for hiking, hunting, fishing, or scouting where you need immediate access to a defensive firearm.
    • Heavy Pack Integration: Keeps your weapon completely clear of backpack waist belts, sternum straps, and hunting frames.
    • Vehicle & ATV Operations: Provides a clean, unobstructed draw stroke while seated in a vehicle, side-by-side, or on a tractor where a belt holster is trapped or slow to access.
    • The Benefit: Total clearance from the ground, brush, and waist-mounted gear. It keeps your sidearm centered in your immediate workspace, providing rapid, natural access to your weapon system even under physical exertion or when wearing heavy winter layers

Hook-Backed Velcro Holster

  • The Blueprint: A streamlined, minimalist Kydex shell with the entire flat back surface covered in industrial-grade male (hook) velcro.
  • How it Works: It anchors securely to any female (loop) velcro-lined surface, locking the holster firmly in place while keeping the trigger guard completely protected.
  • Best For:
    • Off-body deployment in velcro-lined gear, including:
    • Backpacks, sling bags, and commuter packs.
    • Vehicle console inserts or under-dash mounting panels.
    • Plate carrier CCW compartments.
  • The Benefit: Gives you a consistent, rigid draw platform inside a bag or vehicle. Unlike soft nylon universal holsters that collapse or shift, this Kydex shell ensures your weapon stays oriented exactly where you indexed it, allowing for a clean, repeatable draw stroke when seconds count.

Weapon-Mounted Lights: Standard vs. Light-Bearing

Adding a Weapon-Mounted Light (WML) completely changes how a Kydex holster is engineered. You must select the exact holster model that matches your setup.

Standard Holsters (No Light)

  • The Mechanics: Retention is formed directly around the firearm's trigger guard. When you holster the weapon, you will feel and hear a distinct, positive "click" as the Kydex locks into the trigger guard geometry.
  • Limitation: This setup will not fit a firearm with a light attached.

Light-Bearing Holsters

  • The Mechanics: Retention is formed directly around the body of the weapon light itself, not the trigger guard. Because the light is wider than the slide, the holster channels are wider to let the light pass through.
  • Limitation: A light-bearing holster requires the light to be mounted to the firearm to function. If you attempt to use the firearm without the light attached, there will be zero retention, and the gun will loose-fit or fall out.
  • ⚠️ Critical Rule: You must select the exact manufacturer and model of your weapon light (e.g., Streamlight TLR-7A, SureFire X300U) when ordering. Light models are not interchangeable; a holster molded for a SureFire will not securely hold a Streamlight.
  • Optics & Red Dot Compatibility
  • Every holster shell we press is cut to modern duty specifications. You do not need to guess if your slide-mounted optic will fit.
  • Optic-Cut by Default: All standard and light-bearing holsters feature an open-top optic cut. This accommodates all major red dot sights (including Trijicon RMR/SRO, Holosun 407/507/EPS, Aimpoint Acro, and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro).
  • Suppressor-Height Sights: Our sight channels are engineered to clear standard factory sights as well as aftermarket suppressor-height iron sights up to 0.375 inches tall.
  • Note: If you run an exceptionally tall aftermarket front sight or a custom competition optic mount, please contact us prior to ordering to ensure proper channel clearance.
